Insect Kingdom Project in Art Classes
Zapata students worked diligently during art classes with Ms. Martinez to create larger than life insect sculptures. 6th-8th grade students worked in groups to strategize and tackle the challenge. Each team was responsible for creating their sculptures using only cardboard, newspaper, and tape. Once the foundation was set, each team was tasked to mix their own paper mache clay using a specific recipe.
A special group of 4th graders were selected to paint the remaining sculptures. The 4th graders had a blast and worked great together. All in all, we know our Zapata Warriors made memories to last a lifetime.
