Zapata Uses Reading Levels


​Zapata Academy uses reading levels A to Z to guide reading instruction and to help your child make "just right" book choices. There are reading goals for the end of the year at every grade level. However, if your child did not meet the goal, we encourage him/her to continue reading every day. We encourage students to re-read books, read aloud to family members, and to have discussions about the books they have read. Please read below for more on each reading level. Examples of books at various reading levels have also been provided.

Examples of Books at Different Reading Levels

The following are a few examples of books at different reading levels.  This is intended to help you select books that are "just right."  You can visit Scholastic Book Wizard or Booksource to find the reading levels of other books.
